Team Poem by Niki Nicholas Nkuna

When we rise in the morning of any day
We hope to do something big or small
With the objective uppermost in our minds without any tape measure

We bank on other people for the effort required
This is a natural tendency
To do whatever we intend doing with whomever

Why not alone?
We know the reason explicitly by hind side, that
To go it alone will obviously limit our horizons and curtail our expectations

By inclination of the wise men, the word, ‘T.E.A.M. is an acronym
T’ stands for Together
E’ stands for Every one
A’ stands for Achieves
M’ stands for More
Together everyone achieves more!

The people whose support we leverage on are everywhere
They are family members, friends and colleagues
However they do not always see the bigger picture
They are just there, eager to buy into the story of success
As told by the wise men

Should they buy into the success story
The sum total of the effort is maximised
Exceeding the lone effort of the bogus wise man
Thus achievement through the maximised effort of a team is sure to come
Within the set time or short time by the cool brow

This gives rise to the recognition of the team effort
That enables the organisation as a whole, not a department to shine
Neither an individual’s effort which is only a damp squib
