Tearful Farewell Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Tearful Farewell

She was waiting there to give him farewell
but he turned away his face from that hell.
He found her later with a bulging womb.
He rushed and wished her and her new bloom.

A decade back he made her shed tears
but now with admiring looks on her he nears.
She thanked him for his change of mind
and urged him to sing those two lines being kind.

He wonders for she still keeps in mind that song.
He warbles and with her slowly walks along.
‘A genial smile' offers that gentle belle
and his heart sleeps again in a silent dell.

This time she is taking farewell with misty eyes
and he stands and waves his hand with filial ties.
