Tears Poem by Stanley Coffin

Tears

I could hear the tears in your voice every word running down your cheek
I could hear the pain when you did speak
But sadly we knew there was no other choice,
Of this moment I did dread of these moments where couples part it was never my intent to cause you pain but to love you instead,
We have come to the parting of our ways that fork in the road, where our dreams come to an end and where there is nothing left to say,
And our love, promises of eternal love, become just a memory of days gone by,
Where did it go wrong you wonder, the answer no longer of importance for the decision having already been made,
But curiosity causes you to ponder about changing wants and desires from a time when eternity together was your unspoken commitment to this moment, now, on the cusp of a search for a new love, you reflect, would that end the same,
For both of you falling out of love was not a crime or wrong it is painful but a fresh start can mean happiness when we let go and choose to move on,
Love is worth the gamble you decide it's time to move on take a chance and open up your world to possibilities and to live and love again.
