Tears And Sorrow Poem by Don Subba

Tears And Sorrow

Broken hearts and broken dreams always seem to go together—
you set your standards way too high, then find you cannot weather.
At the time you felt that you could climb the highest peak,
take on any task; you thought it all would come so easy,
that you only had to ask.
The view you cherished in your mind was nothing like reality;
you gave yourself so ardently, a soul poured out so gallantly.

Don't let it throw you off your course,
everything can change tomorrow;
lift your eyes and hold this truth—
there is no time for tears and sorrow.

No time for tears and sorrow
No time for tears and sorrow
Everything can change tomorrow
Hold your head up, keep going

Now it looks like nothing, nothing could ever make you smile again,
but that's a story, false and hollow,
far, so far from how it ends.
You have everything that matters,
every reason to begin anew—
and the brightest part of all of it,
the gold still shining, is your youth.

Don't let it throw you off your course,
everything can change tomorrow;
lift your eyes and hold this truth—
there is no time for tears and sorrow.

No time for tears and sorrow
No time for tears and sorrow
Everything can change tomorrow
Hold your head up, keep going

So let the morning find you rising,
hope still beating in your chest,
for broken hearts and broken dreams
are just the prelude to your best.

No time for tears and sorrow
No time for tears and sorrow
Everything can change tomorrow
Hold your head up, keep going
