Teddy Bear Up There Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Teddy Bear Up There

Hey there 'goodness' little bear
Atop the highest shelf
Tell me how you got up there
Or did you have some help

Come down, come down; Before you fall
The floor is far away
And if you fall how will I know
No words you ever say

Days pass by and still you hide
High up must feel nice
Still my little teddy bear
I miss holding you at night

I'll pound, come down, don't make me mad
I'll shake this like a tree
And now I see you over here
I think you're mocking me

How is it that a teddy bear,
Can fly from here to there
From top of shelves so very high
Then be in mom's best chair

Tell me why in pretend
Is pretending ever wrong
I think not for us, the best of friends
That's why we get along
