She was his shadow
He was her ghost
Love letters sent
They'll always have their music
All of the words and poetry
Spoke of a haunted story
They met decades ago
Covered in winter's snow
He was shy and her spirit was broken
She laughed at his jokes as her smile was stolen
She looked deep into his eyes wondering if she could ever love again
He was handsome, smart, funny, sexy, but a gentleman
His hands told a story she found compelling
She was nervous and could feel her throat swelling
He calmed her soon after
He loved to listen to her laughter
She was interesting yet mysterious
He thought he was somewhat delirious
How did he find such an intriguing beauty on this cold winter's night
He wouldn't let her go or get out of his sight
He gently grabbed her hand offering warm shelter
Out of the cold she thanked him and then he held her
The fire was warm they sat quietly both watching the flames
With the fire dancing in his eyes he finally asked her name
She could hear the wind and rain outside
She laughs softly saying, 'We came in just in time.'
He nodded his head without words waiting for her to answer
Hesitant at first he introduces himself, 'I'm Gallagher.'
'Gallagher, ' she repeated.
'What an interesting name for such a man as yourself, ' she greeted.
He wasn't sure what she meant and still he waited patiently for her reply
She sensed his curiosity then she asked, 'Why? '
'I want to know your name and everything about you.'
'Well then, ' she laughs. 'I want to know everything about you too.'
He smiles and says, 'Well I always tell a great story I'm not gonna lie.'
She smiles back then tells him, 'Looks like together you and I will start a beautiful life.'
