Temptation Poem by Daya Nandan

A weakness Deep within that seems to hide,
That desire burning in heat inside,
It brings destruction all around this evil in our life
That evil that makes a husband betray his wife

That evil calling that provokes us to do evil things,
That sound of lies in our ears that the devil sings,
And many evil thoughts surface in our human mind,
A path of destruction begins if evil we wish to find

Beating up an enemy for self satisfaction,
Making extra money through an illegal action,
Cheating in an exam for extra marks,
Flirting with another's lover just to see some sparks,

Hurting others in moments of anger and fear,
Lying to others and bringing all dreadful evil near,
Temptations are within us, demons we must control,
Like malignant cancers they can easily consume our soul,

Temptations can infect your mind and change who you are,
Bringing darkness in your life, enough to kill the brightest star,
So here is my advice to all of you my young friends,
Life's choices and decisions are influenced by our actions by our hands,

So do not make a decision based on your temporary emotions,
For everything has consequences and you might just drown in the sinful oceans,
Make your mind calm make sure your vision is clear,
Control your thoughts and emotions and harm not those to you that are dear,

Be The master of your heart and mind, let not your body be your master,
For if you fail to think things through your world will end in disaster,
Be at peace with yourself and temptations will be a distance from you,
Understand the circumstances and know how to walk in another's shoe,

To prevent mistakes that you might forever regret,
Prevent all that sadness and you breaking down in cold sweat,
So be wise and weigh your options with a clear head,
.For actions without thinking might just make you end up dead,
