Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! Poem by Denis Martindale

Some human hearts are cold as ice, yet not are all as cold,
Some human hearts have proved quite nice, and some as good as gold.
Some human hearts change to and fro, in both worlds, as it were,
Some human hearts we'll never know, who knows what will occur?
Yet God knows every heart on Earth, and wishes all were good,
So noble that they prove their worth in ways best understood.
Consider how God guides each day towards far better things,
And that Lord Jesus helps us pray, since He's the King of Kings.

But when we're glad, glad as can be, do we thank God at all?
Do we give thanks for Calvary and Easter's miracle?
And if we read the Bible, too, do we give some away?
Did someone buy one just for you, so that you, too, could pray?
Or did someone bless charities, or ministries of love,
If so, give thanks to those that please, as well as God above.
Yes, count your blessings, one by one, no matter, great or small,
Give thanks to God, who gave His Son, the Saviour for us all.
