Thanksgiving Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

Friday, at midnight
-full are most restaurants
-and discos and the bars…

Girls wear loose or too tight
-faces, hairs are made up
-strange are the guys…

Winter is on its way
-and has sent messenger
- (Autumn…Fall…)

On the wings of breeze
-has arrived as guest, chill.
-In furnace dance flames
-of the woods
-composing their soft song
-while champagne sits in ice
- (in mansion…)

The woman is in silk
-perfect work of artist
-shiny, red, are her lips
-perfume, soft, sweet…

Partner wears cotton pajama!

Basements that are shared by
-students, immigrants
-are waiting for tenants…
- (to return, worn, tired
-with red eyes, weary hair!)

Night is lost in the bulbs
-cloudy is sky
-here, there, raindrops…

Silence shouts:
- "While beat hearts
-spenders are rulers,
-and the poor carriers! "
