Thanksgiving Poem by Bryan Taplits

Thanksgiving

Things one is thankful for and always will recall
Not rainbows nor miracles- nor any of my flaws,
Not sports events nor movies nor of anything excited
Not going out, nor wrestling bouts-
But just to be invited!
Although this thing is a wonder to behold-
and never to be rationed-
It's not an army strong nor thunderous throngs-
But just an invitation!
Not Everest
Nor Shangri-La
Nor poetry new indited
But only this
(better than a kiss)
It's nice to be invited!
