Oh dear Lord, my dearest God,
When on the plains of that beautiful shore
With the flowing spring of live and wealth
And all that beauty could offer to me,
I chose to put your love aside
And jumped to the beautiful lips of despair,
I knew, deep down me, that mine was gone
I knew, deep down me, that mine was fried!
But, it is this that hold me bound
That love that gave me your Son
That Christmas gift that restored my hope
So now in the burning furry of my despair
I have the courage to look up again
And breathe into my soul the fresh air of salvation
And jump in the feet of the pouncing tigers.
I will raise my thunderous voice to the heavens
And shout of that perfect love that gave me life
That love that needed nothing in return
But gave all out to me and to hold and to live
But if sin’s strong chains binds me to the earth
I will break off and sing with all my soul
That Christmas gift that restored my hope.
To the birds and all that can fly
To the lions and all that can pounce
To fishes and all that can swim
And to the choirs and all that can sing
Spread your wings and cover the wide of the skies
Span your legs and travers that wide of the land
Spin yourself and molest the belli of the sea
From today, your life has been given to you
You will now have to live and fear not death
That Christmas gift has restored your life.
