That Difference Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

That Difference

As if that difference needed made,
Does not include you.
To follow through to make it.
Or awaits for you to choose and decide,
From which options to pick.
Allowing the ease,
To minimize to then brush aside,
Those tasks presented.
With challenges disliked.
Hoping something more suitable,
Fits in perfectly with your life.

Time quickly passes.
Leaving few with choices to choose.
To prioritize what they should do...
Tomorrow.
When unnoticed that 'tomorrow' came.
Without a hint of Sun to shine.
But with a dumping of rain.
To clear and nourish dormant minds.

As if that difference needed made,
Does not include you to pay attention.
Not only in good times.
Awaiting to find them giving approval.
Making it easier to get up and move.
To then only choose,
Familiar excuses to use.
With it to discover that difference,
You could have made 'yesterday'...
Had long been gone.
Erasing the significance of it.

Leaving you left to decide,
From which needed changes to make...
Already outdated.
Or a difference made to notice,
Who or what the doing of it benefits!
You?
Or someone else's life,
More prioritized to optimize and imitate!
