That Dog Poem by Dorsey Baker

That Dog

barking dog disturbs
the night
won't stop barking
that poor dog
must be
just as lonesome
as he can be
deep down
in pain and misery
wouldn't want
to be him
anywhere
anytime
when the rain starts to fall
when the sun starts to shine
I wouldn't want
any of his problems
and I know
he wouldn't want
none of mine
