That Guy Poem by Randy McClave

That Guy

Be that one person in the crowd
Whose standing defiant and proud,
With hate and lies he won't be persuaded
To which unto God we will all be one day graded.
While everyone else is shaking their fist
Their beliefs and wants he does resist,
While everyone else is giving a Nazi salute
With his arms crossed, he won't be that brute.
When everyone else screams let it burn
As if putting ashes into a urn,
He though is the person with the water hose
Hate and violence is not what he has chose.
When everyone else stands for the wealthy and the greedy
When they support the disrespectful and the seedy,
When they are judging, falsely accusing and cursin'
He's never that judgmental rumored based person.
When everyone else hates the hungry and the poor
With chants of, "let them starve" with a roar
When everyone else gives them rants and bedlam
He is the one who happily feeds them.
When everyone else stands and supports the rich
And they ignore those digging a ditch,
When they support the rich person's blights
For the middle class he always fights.
When hate and racism everyone is teaching
The ways of Jesus he is instead preaching,
We will all be known by our fruits when we die
Make sure that we are that guy.
