That Missing Voice Poem by C. Albert Andrews

That Missing Voice

THAT MISSING VOICE

You can hear the silence?
It engulfs my entire room
That quiet voice
Sounds like drums
Echoes like the ocean
That on one else can hear
Only me
The one who really cares

That quiet whisper
From lips that spoke words of passion
Of devotion, and reason
Wisdom and humour.
Now urge my quest
To find what has gone wrong
Which path has been chosen
In which direction did she go

In her absence
That whisper continues
In the morning, just form here
In the evening it's the same
Either way, that voice remains
Expression of intense affection
Resonatesin that silence
As that whisper lingers

Flickering absence
Sent a message,
Those words never enough
Words which I often fail to find
To describe her matchless beauty
As she modestly decline
To accept the truth about her beauty
Beauty seldom recognises beauty.
