That Roar Poem by Nicholas Smith

That Roar

Do you hear that roar?
Think it's something that you can ignore?

That Tiger pride running in your veins?
Loud stands at the football games?

When we saw Trent and the boys invent a historical event
Getting us to the playoffs making the dreams of winning state to a great extent

Malik running his heart out getting to that 1K
Getting closer to the dreams of getting D1 one day

Time to leave the gridiron and take it inside to the court
Coach Latham showing us the b-ball sport

Ronald high flying booming like it's no tomorrow
Making the crowd hype and not feeling the sorrow
for the other team

Pokey shooting those high treys from beyond the arc like it's a dream
Making you think 'damn white boy got game crazy how he makes it seem'

Easy but it's not; one thing I can say is that I had an experience that others
haven't got
The Bridge may not be the best and we all say it's lame, ratchet, dirty, and everything negative in one big knot

But you gotta admit out of all the sh*t that went down at Stockbridge
You can't lie: you had a heck of a time and you enjoyed it

So I say good-bye to Henry County and all my friends
I'm moving to a new school and my new adventure begins

No matter weather I am here or there in life

That Roar will always live within..
