That's All Poem by Nelson Torres

That's All

Why do you believe it's only for specific people,
I know how to walk on water without making a ripple.
Haven't you ever felt the feeling of being left out?
Because, just to let you know, I'm about to drown from the drought,
Everyone's so far away in my eyes
And I get lonely too...

Stop saying your words when you know they're going to hurt,
You must really like pushing people in your own dirt.
You say I'm a sin yet you're such a flirt, practicing premarital sex I see?

Thanks for leaving the ones you're afraid of out the picture,
Never knew it could cause such a big rip.
The grip I thought I had,
When I didn't even know, deep down inside, we're all sad.

Stop saying she's special when we're all the same,
You just found someone you can claim, that's all.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this poem a couple years ago to a kid who kept telling me that I'm a sin and that I'm going to hell and I'm an abomination and blah blah blah. At the time I was really hurt cause it was when I first came out the closet about being gay, so I wrote a poem about it. Enjoy!
