The 5th Poem by Russell Stice

The 5th

For if your heart be like a boat tied and moored to the docks
Secure from storm and wave that pushes it toward the rocks

Throughout days and nights the rope gives a gentle little tug
Pulls & reminds your heart, of them the children that you love

The sacrifices made goes unaware & heralds no clues or hint
Honor and respect wavered for the 5th law & how it was bent

Short comings and failure and the wasteful things I've done
Is now the scales balanced for a lifetime penalty to be unsung

Ones that judge and don't reflect, if had to walk my path alone
Could they survive the tragic scripts that life tries to re-atone

The action of spouses to one another has a long lasting effect
Couples should be the example, to teach of love honor & respect

An old saying that says behind each cloud the sun still shines
Love and forgive one another, for blessed be the tie that binds
