The Actions And Mindset Of Tsyballuk (English Sonnet) Poem by Gert Strydom

The Actions And Mindset Of Tsyballuk (English Sonnet)

At Mykolaiv, at war in the Ukraine,
a Russian did his commander overrun
with a main battle tank caused great pain,
crushed legs instead of killing with a gun,

in his own kind of rebellion at this war,
angered by frostbite and lack of supplies,
did not believe in a quick victory anymore,
saw the general's words as the greatest lies.

The crematorium that had been brought along
to turn dead Russian soldiers to ash and dust,
the Ukrainian army that fought back strong:
to Putin and the general did bring distrust.

Ukrainians that into radio chatter did break
told him that they did in war-crimes partake.

[Poet's note: The Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov confirmed colonel Medvedev was injured during fighting at a VK post.]
