The Age Of Innocence Poem by Clive Blake

The Age Of Innocence

Rating: 4.8

The age of innocence,
A daughter we adore,
Long hot summer days,
A toddler only four.

Tadpoles in a jam-jar,
Watching as they wriggle,
Nature being studied,
Inviting her to giggle.

Eyes filled with laughter,
No clouds hide the sun,
Happiness a toddler's gift,
Enjoyed by everyone.

Wide-eyed and innocent,
To her, life's one big game,
If only we could join her...
Be innocent once again.

A great poem, my youngest daughter is four, It's the school holidays. She's had us taking Her everywhere. Her sister is twentyfour so at least there's only one I have to push on the swings.
