The Altar - Poem by Ezra Pound

Let us build here an exquisite friendship,
The flame, the autumn, and the green rose of love
Fought out their strife here, 'tis a place of wonder;
Where these have been, meet 'tis, the ground is holy.

    ogni parola per Pound deve essere scelta con cura, in modo da far valere il suo peso nell’argomento poetico...

    each word must be chosen carefully so that it can carry its weight in the poetic argument...

    IN ITALIAN:

    'L'Altare'

    Costruiamo qui una squisita amicizia,
    La fiamma, l'autunno, e la verde rosa d'amore
    Qui condussero la loro lotta, questo è luogo di meraviglie;
    Dove tutto ciò è avvenuto, la terra è sacra.
