The Ambitious Fisherman Poem by Julian Takali

The Ambitious Fisherman

Oh how virtious he was, the hunter diving the deep
He would spend hours down there, sometimes sleep
The water calmed him
The fish teased
He never shed a tear
He was underneath, free

Every Monday morning, when the clouds were yawning
When the sun peeked through
When the wind began to sway

He gasped an ambitious breath
Sank slow through the murky liquor
And danced the tango by himself
The sea cackled and shook with laughter
The mountains cracked and broke
The earth split and inhaled all
The fisherman still danced in desperation

As his lonely tango needed a partner, but he was in the wrong place
The fish only knew how to spice up salsa in the hunters plate
He tired himself out and hunkered in the deep
Before his arms hit the bottom, he was already asleep (you fish are worth more, dance your soul out sometime)
