The Beach That Reminds Us Poem by Julian Takali

The Beach That Reminds Us

As once the salty sea wind held its palm across your cheek
Caressed your skin
When you ran down the bank
Where the sand grew into your steps
And the waters blue
Turned to a maybe red
Where the turtles scattered
Thousands of tiny turtles
Blinded by and in and around birth
Heading nowhere in a world where
He who docent know his path is mad
He who chooses to run as far and fast as he can is mad
He who goes to watch the turtles on the beach
As once the lively salt air invited you to
Is mad
Well, he may well be gone
And possibly very mad
But he is doing what we're all scared to
