The Angry Poet Poem by Qiniso Mogale

The Angry Poet

I am a furious poet
I am pensive poet
I am a flabbergasted poet
I am an exasperated poet
I am a nauseated poet
I am seething poet
I am an angry poet.

Yes, I am an angry poet
Lies have become truths
Fables have become facts
The unacceptable has become acceptable
The unpardonable has become pardonable
Foolishness is called wisdom
Wisdom is called foolishness
God is mocked
Christ is insulted
The Holy Spirit is grieved.

I am angry poet
Children are sexually abused
Women are sexually abused
Orphans are maltreated
Widows are mistreated
The poor are exploited
The law has eyes
The law favours the wealthy
Justice remains elusive
Justice remains evasive
I am an angry poet
I am an angry poet.
