The Animal In Me (1994-1995) Poem by Lillian B. Rose

The Animal In Me (1994-1995)

Rating: 5.0

there is an eagle inside of me
soaring higher and higher, it seems
bringing me to greater heights
eagles are wise, calculating and strong
they use their heads as do I
upon landing, a cat I will be
for when I fall, I always land on my feet
no matter what blows life throws at me
I have to stand tall and be the best I can be
I'm like a wolf in needing a pack
In rough times, I need people and not only myself
to end every battle I must face
too many animals live inside of me
these are but a select few of them
