The Antics Of Friends Poem by Chijioke Olisah

The Antics Of Friends

The dictionary calls them friend,
Someone emotionally close to commend,
With great acquaintance that can transcend,
An ally who you can’t offend.

I call them racial antics,
Those whose smiles are subjected to critics,
Your issues are kept on their lips,
So it doesn’t affect their heart beats.

When your certificate keeps pilling up,
Their anger keeps building up,
With patches of envy like ketchups,
But make them brainless by locking-up.

When you need them for shelter,
They give excuses like one given out fliers,
With facial expression like a drilled boxer,
And letting you off like a bank cashier.

Crying to meet them for a little penny,
Is worst than soldiers committing a crime of mutiny,
So avoid falling into their felony,
And stay close to someone with the same progeny
