The Awakening - Poem by marita perera

Clear as crystal, fierce as a tiger’s
Deep as the night was the look in your eyes
Heart of stone turned brittle as glass
Quickly as lightning when the cyclone came to pass
Untamable from the wild, unpredictable
The bold hawk landed on it’s prey, I’m feeble
Impatient as the wind in an untamable storm
Fluid thoughts as dreams came to form
Furious like the sea when the passion touched the sky
I, a graceful swan, awakened flying high
Evanescent bubble radiated when burst
Freeing me to air like a scent from a rose
