The Ballad Of A Lover Poem by Matloob Bokhari

The Ballad Of A Lover

THE BALLAD OF A LOVER
On the pathless path of desires, while wandering
I saw the lovers of world sad without reason
Fanatics weaving paradise for their own sects
Weeping mothers in the wind of misfortune
Hungry babes with silent tears and sobbing screams
Looking with sad eyes at manna Heaven and high mansions
Homeless youth in agony in cold dark streets
I saw the uneasy crown amassing wealth in earth
I saw a darvash storing up wealth in heaven
In silent night, I smiled with fair moon and gems of heaven
I danced with soft lilies and fragrant spring breeze
I sang with rocks, mountains and singing birds
I heard the saints' song
I need not the royal throne of the world
I need not Croesus' treasure
I need not Helen of Troy
I need not the dip in the water of River Styx
All joys are in the land of Love,
Love is a boat in the storm,
Love is an eternal candle in the dark night
Love You O Love for love
No worship is greater than love
