The Beautiful Road I Will Not Take Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

The Beautiful Road I Will Not Take

Rating: 5.0

Some roads, broad and paved
Clean, ornamented and beautiful
Yet will I not pass through

Sumptuous and delicious a meal may seem
But tinged with a tiny poison I will take no touch

If the road to success will soil my fingers
A sharp detour will I take longer

If your triumph causes others to genuine sorrow
The route taken was wrong

So when it looks too easy, sweet and promising
Do well to read the caveat again.

Enjoyable and poignant. Success is nothing if you lose yourself along the way. Thanks for sharing.

Caveat emptor, Beware. Nicely penned. It is better to journey through the long tortuous road than the smooth short part. Thanks for sharing, deserving of a +10
