The Beauty In Me Poem by Phoenix1 Smith

The Beauty In Me

Rating: 4.0

Since I was a baby I've known what is beauty
friends and strangers stared at me with glee..
the look on their faces filled with adoration
fascinating thing in this cradle, that's me..

would exclaim in delight how I would grow
to be a beautiful woman everyone will envy
all these were proven to be true, I'm one of
those few bestowed with this merit luckily

with this virtue, I am blessed with a canny
trait of competent intelligence, all do agree
I have a sharp gray thing between my ears
the 'beauty and brain' everybody calls me...

avid suitors will declare I have the most
beautiful eyes they have ever seen and
sweet spell and enchantment they feel
if I feel pity to give them a brief gaze

but these are just temporary traits in life
doesn't fascinate me, as I know who I am
and what truly is vital while I am alive
It's my heart that sings of truth and love

You, my dear darling have been so blind
wandering to unknown sites trying to find
the happiness you think and your desires
searching for affirmation of altered kind..

here I am, woman that's desired by many
whom you failed to treasure and appreciate
still doesn't give the satisfaction you need
hunger for passion and attention to heed..

you may ignore my charm, prowess and grace
turn away from my enchanting, alluring eyes
but you cannot deny my ever forgiving heart
that only seek, sees the gem in your soul
what matters is the undeniable truth, that mine,
is most beautiful heart you've ever known..
