The Beginning Of The End Poem by jodde taylor

The Beginning Of The End

Words laid to dust
there in the corner of your mouth,
falling to floor
did I hear you say goodbye.

Did you see my eyes turn!
I left long ago
but here you still remain.

Always the broken redeemer
trying hard not to scheme across honesty
but still, you try to take another piece.

Drop the ropes
ships sail away, as does regret
you will fade into the haze,
yesterday can be removed
with soap and brush, from beneath my nails.

A distraction of your own qualities
self exposed, lying in a door way
just passing time, like an old dime.

Forget you!
yes I will walk above water
did I care?
yes I did drown!
did I love you
Oh I died long ago! ....

Somewhere between a river
and the rock that shall break my head
I will stumble and fall,
walking is evidence, I still exist...

Breathing will my revenge!
staring at the horizontal stars
awakening a vision of hope.

Never shall I walk these stairs again
Never shall I lift my arms to a warm heart
Everything is stale!
No smell of blossom, reaches this avalanche
slowly sliding into the deep dark cold;
of your shadow....

It's like walking in shadows, and trying to awaken hope. I like it. You are invited to read and comment on my poems if you like.
