The Bench That Brought Us Together Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

The Bench That Brought Us Together

The bench stood waiting,
weathered wood,
silent witness to passing lives,
a keeper of stories untold.

That day, it held us both,
strangers bound by nothing,
but the pull of a shared pause.
The air carried no promises,
just the quiet hum of existence.

You sat first,
then I.
The space between us,
a question unspoken.

Words came slowly,
tentative as morning light.
And yet, they found their place,
filling the emptiness between.

The bench didn't move,
yet it brought us closer.
Carving a memory
into its worn embrace.
