The Big They Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

The Big They

Emerge from the glue
Glue of the false they
What will they say?
What will they think?
Who the hell are they?

Be tactful
Be polite
But by all means be yourself

Once the they validate you
You are a chameleon
The co-dependent
The crowd pleaser

The big they will dress you
Will present you
Will do your writing
Will smile like a beauty contest
Will teach you to be so proper

The big THEY will smother you out
