The Blood Ink Poem by Matthew Holloway

The Blood Ink

The page overran
by word and lyric
by verse and tale
all etched in it
from the well to the pen
to the page it flowed
blood ink
the outpouring of a soul
the grieving and tears
the sufferance
pain, anguish, pleas
the blood ink
dries into a stain
overlooked, skimmed
passed by
just another poem
just another life
just another page
words, lyrics, verse
all painted upon a canvas
a canvas of sorts
and for what or who
was the blood ink poured
