The Blue Bell Poem by Saima Sharif

The Blue Bell

Rating: 5.0

Beneath the bell- like petals,
I can see a blue bruise for unknown cries,
It hides its shy face
When I wipe my tearful eyes.

With the dusty wind blown by the arriving train,
It waves its bell in gay,
And stoop down with sorrow
When the train passes away.

With the smile of the sunshine from a distant hill,
The blue bell shines like a pair of earrings of ocean pearl;
The glitter flushes in my heart with a long cherished dream
That starts to glow like the pearlscent waterfall.

I cuddle the blue bell
To soothe my pain,
I can feel the solitary breath of it among the hundreds of woods,
Delivering the sweetest hue
When I walked away along the serpentine roads.

I was amused by the inner beauty of the bluebells when I had a walk along the Como Bridge in Sydney with my family during the Christmas in a few years ago. I could feel a strange solitude on the blue bells that I always do feel within myself.
