The Bond Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

The Bond

You are playing the harlot by breaking the bond of marriage,
But so be it;
because you do not know the law given to us!
Look for a wife and marry and,
Stop sleeping around with the woman;
For one day you will be judged.

Look for a man and marry and,
Stop sleeping with the men around;
For one day you will be judged too.

I am eating like a parrot and,
You are eating like a dog!
But when the world crashes,
We will all die and be judged thereafter.

Oil for light and spices for the anointing,
You are playing the harlot by breaking the bond of marriage!
And you are like the almond flowers with buds and,
I am like the covering of a ram's skin dyed red.

Cover your nakedness and learn the laws,
For i am like a sheep under the great tree;
Cover your nakedness and come to me,
For togeher with me you will learn to uphold the laws;
And like a pillar of stone closer to you but,
In honesty and in truth to live by the law.
