The Boulder Poem by Christan Bowen

The Boulder

The snow that covers the pond is breaking
Breaking from a boulder
That rolled down a snow-covered mountain

What's beneath the glass of ice is older
And has smoldered, for centuries
Suffered injuries
And has waited for weather wintery

It began with a groan
And what came on, was but a nightmare
covered in ancient frozen hair
To the despair of the population
And for all time the desecration

Must be avenged and justified
Why he died, but never gave
His monstrous body to a grave
With piercing eyes and a howl
Forever loose
The time is now
