The Boxer

I do not play with balls or with a stick
Instead with my fist I hit,
I don't ever wear a helmet or a shoulder pad
Because, I am a boxer, badder than bad.
I need no teammates for my win or protection
I need no cheerleaders in my section,
All I need is my skills and my own might
Then, I am prepared to fight.
I am one of two gladiators fighting one on one
Where we the warriors rely only on our on brawn,
Excitedly waiting and anticipating the ringing of the bell
We warriors are always prepared for either war or hell.
We rely mainly upon our own two fists
With every hook, uppercut and bob and twists,
We have no teammates in the ring to ever protect us
As we hear our corner both scream and cuss.
We wait and we wait for the bell to ring
It's calling out two gladiators the bell does sing,
My loss or my win is what I achieved by myself all alone
And only by myself, do I sit on the winners throne.
