Exchange lineup cards,
Now stand for 'The Song.'
Watch the color guard,
As they're marching along.
Now dust off home plate,
And scream 'play ball.'
It's been a long wait,
But we're here one and all.
Let's see if my 'Stros, '
Can do it this year.
Get those footlong chili dogs,
And a ten dollar beer.
America's pastime is here once more,
Can't wait for the first home run whack.
Grab my Astros jersey as I slam the door,
The boys of summer are back.
If you enjoyed this poem, and I surely hope you did,
