The Boys Of Summer Are Back Poem by Juan Olivarez

The Boys Of Summer Are Back

Exchange lineup cards,
Now stand for 'The Song.'
Watch the color guard,
As they're marching along.

Now dust off home plate,
And scream 'play ball.'
It's been a long wait,
But we're here one and all.

Let's see if my 'Stros, '
Can do it this year.
Get those footlong chili dogs,
And a ten dollar beer.

America's pastime is here once more,
Can't wait for the first home run whack.
Grab my Astros jersey as I slam the door,
The boys of summer are back.

If you enjoyed this poem, and I surely hope you did,
You might want to read 'Right Field' and 'Home Run.
Thanks for reading my poems God Bless you.
