The Bridge Poem by Randy Johnson

The Bridge

(This is a fictional poem)

I told them that the bridge would collapse soon.
Seventeen people died on that horrible day in June.
Those people would still be alive if I'd been taken seriously before.
They laughed when I told them the bridge wasn't safe but they're not laughing anymore.
When the bridge collapsed, the cars fell in the lake.
Now they wish they had listened when I said that lives were at stake.
