The Buffalo Grieves Poem by john tiong chunghoo

The Buffalo Grieves

they say when a buffalo
is to be butchered by its master
the buffalo would always cry the night
before it is killed.

the child asks why, and the man says,
'Perhaps, it grieves it cannot
serve its master anymore.'

Hi, Mr JTC, the buffalo when young and strong ploughed the paddy field to grow rice, when old and weak, it was slaughtered. The man ate rice, with buffalo meat. It was betrayed and then cried.Thanks. U Win Kyi
