The Bullets In My Heart - Poem by kyle rainbolt

as i plunge head first
into the depth of night
i tremble from the cold
because the cold i have to fight
why do i keep returning
to what i hate the most?
because i have to face the past
that has now become my ghost
tell fear that i say thanks
for the motivation it has given
and tell love that im sorry
that ive always kept it hidden
i may never return
from this empty, shadowy, deep
so just in case i dont
my heart is yours to keep
but watch out for the day
that i come back from dark
ill be bleeding from these wounds,
the bullets in my heart.
