Once upon a time
I came across
A bird in a cage
Lovely, pretty, and beautiful
With shining feathers
With loving eyes
Smiling at me
Singing with a voice
So melodious, so sweet
That fingered a string
Some where within me-
She looked so amazing.
She sounded so familiar.
I was stunned
At her beauty,
At her simplicity,
At her uniqueness,
At her looks-
Filled with strange
Yet unknown familiarity
As if I knew her
For ages, for lives-
My hart missed
A beat or two.
I was there-
At a halt, as if
The river of my hart
Found its ocean!
