The Call To Reflect (2019 El&sc) Poem by Maymay Marie

The Call To Reflect (2019 El&sc)

I woke up very early from asleep,
That lingered my deepest thoughts on how things went,
Preparations were done, to get ready to face the show,
To bring the crowns in the head.

Feet cannot be kept, so the stomach upset,
After settling to the chair, I told everyone,
Needed to cure the pain, my stomach pained,
There I passed the rooms, finally, found one.

In passing the alley, an idea came,
To find a haven for the pen was a must,
Bringing the youngs to their place in advance,
Made them ready and took a little frown.

As I stepped in the way to the room,
I saw a stem ready to fall,
I, suddenly, cannot do a thing,
Realizing to lower my head and do what I must do.

The folks gathered pulling me from the place,
Asking where was the blood, but seeing the line,
No damaged except for one line in neck,
I told them, I was okay nothing to worry.

The show was finished and the crowns were given,
To those deserving characters performed,
But as I sat one feeling that cannot be broken,
The stem asking for reflection in my mind stayed.

Now, as I watched the ending of the show,
I realized I cannot focus, shyness overwhelmed,
Who am I, by the way, a sinner God rescued?
Forgotten that I was just, but a nobody.

Then I trembled at the thought of dying,
Most in showing myself on stage,
I was faithless, a broken tooth,
Maybe proud, liar, and became unattached.

I told myself the accident called for something,
A message to reflect awaken me from my deepest reverie,
To focus on the mission God is calling,
To seek, to rescue the world by His Word.

As I became lazy, occupied by worldly pleasures,
Forgotten the mission God set before I was born,
His ways made me tremble and seek out His Name,
The call to reflect that His Word must be in the heart.

The world now is constantly changing,
Career, money, worldly pleasures occupied,
Time to His Word is forgotten,
He is calling to reflect, He may judge anytime.

Folks do not mind What God is seeing them,
Their hearts seek pleasures,
He, according to His Word,
Judge the sinners and saved those who accept Him.
