The Capture Of Fire Poem by Sven Rhoads

The Capture Of Fire

When I was just a small spark set into the night
Past over by the stars always burning bright
Lost within the darkness where I would retreat
But the swelling hunger will not accept defeat
I knew I'd find my own way
I would not be denied
They tried to rain on my parade
But these words I kept inside

I would capture my own fire
To feed the one within
Hellbent with a fury of a thousand storms
I would test the falling rain
Strengthening the burn
For I knew who I was from the day I was born

When I was a proud flame cutting through the dark
Making my name heard by the beat of my heart
Still among the darkness of the coldest shades
But now the stars will see the fire I have made
I knew I'd become what I saw within
I would not fail by the weight
They cant deny the flame I've become
I am more than a star I am the brightest sun
