The Case Poem by Phil Soar

The Case

The prosecutor said "I rest my case"
But he was left with egg upon his face
You see, the evidence was circumstantial
Really quite uncertain or substantial
The defence showed that the case was really flawed
Beyond a doubt was how they then ensured
And so the culprit was let off scot free
And spent his fresh release on burglary
