The Chains OfHabit And Addiction
The chains of habit and addiction
Are far to light to feel
Until suddenly it overwhelms us
As to how their power is so real
Friend we need a stronghold
To break those bands of sin
That bondage can be broken
When we invite Lord Jesus in
In our own strength is weakness
The devil wallows with glee
As he watches our futile attempts
From addictions to be free
He knows our bent on stubbornness
He knows of our foolish pride
O we can kick that habit for sure
Are our thoughts from the father of lies
But there is Someone who's waiting
Why He's just a prayer away
Constantly seeking your well being
Every hour of every day
Give Him some consideration
When your addictions have been ill spent
When again you are tempted to do what you do
Still God's ear towards you is bent
Tomorrow we will do different
Is what we keep saying today
But before you know it the addiction kicks in
And then we are well on our way
O Lord I need Your deliverance
I pray for Your help in my need
Help me to turn... to You my dear God
For You are a Friend indeed!
Help me to turn...to You my dear God
For You are a Friend indeed!
Hallelujah what a Saviour!
