The Chief Rabbi’s Knighthood - Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

It was HIS wish that today you were,
Bestowed by the Monarchy,
With a Knighthood worthily earned,
On our Queen’s Official Birthday.
For Services rendered for the Jewish Cause,
In England and the Jewish World.

Chief Rabbi Sacks, today you’ve joined,
Predecessors with Honours who,
Had for many years davened here,
In this, the St John’s Wood Shul.

May HE grant you health and wisdom too,
To continue onwards all you do,
To succeed and finish the tasks HE’s set,
And hope that obstacles will not be met,
By Friends and Family, and every Jew.
