The Clouds Blocked The Eclipse Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

The Clouds Blocked The Eclipse

Just when the world was feeling down
And seemed everything brought a frown
Searching but not finding
neither tender hug nor loving lips
she sat on the rooftop all alone
hoping for a glimpse of the lunar eclipse
for some sign of hopefulness
she was right there waiting
as the proper time that they said
But the monsoon painted everything grey and red
and a lingering dispair danced in her head
a pall came over her as if she was near dead
She could see the sun but even the sun was on the run
She held one hand over her eyes and one on her warm soft hips
She waited so patiently
But fate has been unkind, she cannot seem to win
Everytime she tries to run she only trips
Hopeful as she tried to be....
The clouds blocked her view of the eclipse
as a tear fell from her eye
dripped down her smooth face
and dripped off her trembling lonely lips
and ran down the street
Into the river of lonliness
