The Colour Of The Brightest Blue Poem by Soumili Karmakar

The Colour Of The Brightest Blue

The colour of the brightest blue in the sky
Is showing up radiance with the assistance of the sun
And I'm gazing at the merging of colours in our lives.
Though, this heart often affirms that, it is all black and gray
However, growing seems to unfold many inevitable colours in its way.

The colour of the brightest blue
Has shared its colour to the distant sea.
She dances in the moonlight at the shore,
Not worrying about the time
Sea and sand, sand and sea
The moonlight and she-
Unslept, uncared, unkept promises leap, and again retreat in her bosom.

She has taken birth in the colour of the brightest blue
In an era, where hearts were true
In an era, where air could be loved too.
Now, when she thinks about the golden glow
To feel its presence in her life
It has left long ago;
Ever since the moon has closed her eyes
It has left without her,
It has left her to be brave
It has left her with memories,
Glimpse of which, is drawn by the waves.

She sings among the wildflowers,
She swings like the daffodils
She lives in her tears and in her joys,
She bathes anew with every sunrise and sunsets.

In the corner of her eyes,
As I find sometimes, a little droplet of crystal
She doesn't wipe it,
She doesn't fear the melancholic rain
She savours it as the evidence of her existence
She cherishes endings as she yearns for the brightest blue
She falls and blooms,
To find a new heaven in view.

She hopes to be the Spring, the autumn
She tells me the contradiction of man-made conceptions-
Diamond, the hardest metal, is what she finds in misty mornings
Where she has been left,
The tranquility of dawn
Leaving behind only mist and a frozen lake
Like footprints on sand
Like a heart meant to weep and laugh
Like a soft fruit cake that has been cut in half.

She walks and sings to the fullest
And then, suddenly, she tears up-
Broken, unloved and unkept.
She loves like jasmines Spreading its smell.
She stands in the rippling of water: In the cycle of life
Uncovering her journey and coloring her each Fall like snowflakes in rhyme.

She, is the colour of the brightest blue
She has become one with the sunrise
To show light and grace
To those who have been left alone at the shore for days
To those who have been walking at the edge of their lives
To find the brightest blue for themselves and to be alive,
Even when the heavy storm and their hearts are beating aloud in ears
The brightest blue revives their courage
To believe in journeying long than to shed tears.
